Strategy January 07, 2015
Promotions Planner
Plan creative campaigns three months out.
march 2015
Red Cross Month
Nearly 600 Red Cross (www.redcross.org) offices operate nationwide, and each plans local activities to raise awareness about how the organization serves the community. Contribute to that effort with everything from special caps for staffers to branded towels for giveaway to magnets with emergency tip information.
National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month
This month is dedicated to educating people how to prevent colorectal cancer through a healthy lifestyle and regular screenings. Work with hospitals, health networks and organizations like the American Gastroenterological Association, providing items like awareness pins and logoed pocket guides with information on the cancer.
National Nutrition Month
Partner with nutritionists, doctors, health food stores and yoga studios to educate consumers about the importance of good nutrition (www.eatright.org). Pitch salad bottle shaker sets, neoprene pouches specifically designed for protecting fruit and collapsible food containers.
Employee Spirit Month
Help clients motivate and inspire their most valuable asset – their employees – with team-building exercises, retreats and parties. Provide T-shirts with event-specific messaging to create camaraderie. The items will remind employees that they are appreciated long after the event ends.
March 8 International Women's Day
Seminars, conferences, luncheons and other events are held around the world to recognize the achievements of women (www.internationalwomensday
.com). For such events, provide lanyards, pens, notepads and take-home keepsakes with messaging that celebrates women.
March 12 World Kidney Day
Help doctors, hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and public health departments spread the word that kidney disease is common but often treatable (www.worldkidneyday.org). Green represents kidney disease awareness, so provide ribbons, pins, notepads and totes in that color.
March 17 St. Patrick's Day
Pubs, brewpubs and bars are a few of the businesses running events and specials on this day. Provide St. Pattys-themed coasters, bar towels, staff shirts, shamrock decorations, green-bead necklaces and more.
March 21 World Down Syndrome Day
Assist nonprofits and other organizations that support people with Down syndrome in raising awareness and advocating for the rights, inclusion and well-being of individuals with the genetic disorder (www.worlddownsyndromeday.org). Wristbands with powerful, cause-related messaging will create unity among clients' staff and the people they serve.
March 23 National Puppy Day
The day's goal is to get thousands of puppies adopted across America (www.nationalpuppyday.com). Help shelters, rescues, kennels and pet spas promote the initiative and reward adopters with branded collars and leashes.
.March 30 Doctors' Day
Empower hospitals and health networks to thank their physicians for the outstanding work they do with special personalized gifts (www.doctorsday.org). Think watches, clocks, frames, and quarter-zip performance outerwear.
