Tango Communication Marketing Acquires Décibel Promo
Montreal-based Tango Communication Marketing (asi/341612) has purchased fellow Canadian firm Décibel Promo, the companies have announced. Financial terms of the deal, made public this week, were not disclosed.
“This acquisition is a strategic addition to Tango's family,” said Tango president Michel Octeau. “The added experience of their team, as well as the incorporation of their privileged contacts to our own will strengthen our purchasing capabilities, leverage and power. More importantly, this addition will allow our current and future customers to enjoy the even greater benefits offered by a talented sales and research team dedicated to making their shopping experience both unique and zen.”
Through the transaction, the majority of staffers at Décibel – a company with $2 million in annual sales – will join Tango. The acquisition comes during a growth period at Tango. Sales at the firm, the company said, are up 20% in 2017 and the distributor is “considering further acquisitions” to expand the reach of its brand.
Since its founding in 2009, Tango has been a multi-channel agency that imports and distributes merchandise with the goal of “supplying the ideal promotional item that will suit each individual customer,” said Octeau. “As a result, the same item indubitably defies time and serves as a constant reminder of the event for which it was created.”
